Front and back cover Images are scans of actual comic. I didn't want to risk damage the interior by flattening it on the scanner. Whereas I was a Spider-Man/super hero kind of guy, Mike was all about the gothic. I only bought the first issue or two, figuring they might be collectible one day. This copy of issue #10 was bought directly off the rack at Clint's Comics in Kansas City, and immediately bagged, with the top of the bag being folded over and stapled to itself (not touching the comic).
And there it's stayed until today, when I got out the white gloves and opened it up to scan. The spine is slightly, but very smoothly, bent from years of storage. You can see in the iPhone photo where there is a slight bend about a third of the way up from the bottom. There's an almost imperceptible horizontal stress mark at the top of the upper staple. Along the top of the front cover are some bend marks that have every-so-slightly broken the ink. There's also a bend area in the top right of the back cover that can be seen on the scan (I think the scanner optically exaggerates it just a hint).
That small dark spec in the "D" of the masthead logo must have been some dust on the scanner, as it is not on the actual book. Provenance: I collected comics in the late 1960s through the late 1970s in Kansas City along with my friend Mike. I haven't been able to give in to the temptation to sell my collection yet, but Mike asked me if I would help him sell his comics and a few related novelty items.
They range in quality from poor to near mint/mint and include some key issues like the first appearance of the Punisher in Spider-Man and the first appearance of Wolverine in the Incredible Hulk. I'm not a professional grader, but I'll describe them as accurately as possible and answer any questions you may have.
